crafting wedding films that tell a story

||

crafting wedding films that tell a story ||

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE STORY.

Wedding films are a cinematic and auditory keepsake of the emotions felt on a wedding day.

Each couple has their own unique style, and it’s reflected in each film that is crafted for them.

“WOW. Juliette embodied our wedding day so well.

My husband and I were sobbing after the first, second, and third watch because we had picked up on new details she had in the film each time and it just brought the day back to life for us.

She really knows how to capture love so well, and brings her own talent and eye and it makes it all the more special. Even her pre-wedding questionnaire and emails made us feel so taken care of and understood leading up to the day. She is extremely professional, and has a beautiful, kind soul. Truly, you will be so grateful you booked Juliette!!”

THE EXPERIENCE —

While photography is always at the forefront of each couples’ mind, video compliments those photographs to enhance the sights, sounds and feelings created on your wedding day.

THE PROCESS —

Before booking - We’ll meet to get to know each other, and figure out the coverage and aesthetic you’re looking for in a wedding film.

Once I’m booked - You can check videographer off your list and celebrate with party hats!

On the day (!!!!) - I’ll freak out over how good you both look, cry to your vows and work with your photographer so we’re a cohesive team. You can relax knowing you’ll have two creatives capturing every detail of the day.

Once the day is done - 24-48 hours later, a sneaky peek will be sent on your phone. Then, a few months later, you’ll have a little film (plus hours on bonus footage) that encapsulates the emotions, feelings, details and beauty that is forever yours to look back on.

That, my friend, is pretty coolbeans.

— Video OFFERINGS —

  • engagement film sessions

  • wedding weekend coverage

  • out-of-state coverage

  • bonus footage that doesn’t make the final cut of the film

and now…

It’s time to watch some films.

watch all my favorite films and meet some of my favorite couples

Leah and Thomas

Leah and Tom found me through the marvelous Emma Bauso Photography, and oh boy, I’m so glad they did. Not only did I get to work with my favorite photographer, but I got to meet the kindest and funniest couple ever.

Up to the wedding day, Leah and I shared a mutual interest in hilarious memes she would post on her IG and I would usually reply to the engagement photos of her and Tom with a lot of crying emojis (which isn’t uncommon for me).

Once editing started, I knew I wanted to have a song that was more folky and fun. I found “Who We Share It With” was absolutely perfect - this couple had a solid friend group for years, I had bonded with Leah over countless millennial Reels on IG, and every single person was so excited to be there and celebrate.

ALSO. Tom totally surprised Leah with a fireworks display at the end of the night. Every SINGLE time I watch that clip, I start crying because it’s such a wholesome and special moment between the two of them.

This is the type of film that once you’re finished, you just think “I’m so lucky to know people like this.” Because life is about who you share it with, after all. :)

GET YOUR PLATFORM BOOTS AND SEQUIN JUMPSUIT ON BECAUSE WE’RE GOING TO THE 70s!

Favorite parts of the day:

  • THE STYLE. My goodness, the looks from this 70s disco theme were incredible. Bright colors! Hot pink!

  • The couple! I mean these cuties were the kindest people, and were so present on their wedding day.

  • Using an old 90s camcorder to document the day. Check out the home video below, because it’s one the greatest things ever.

  • THE SPEECHES! Everyone had such wonderful speeches, and the interaction with the crowd was one of my favorite parts.

Now what the heck are you waiting for - see how wonderful these two are!!

Venue: Sinclair of Skaneateles // Photo: : Emma Bauso Photography // Video Assistant: Theodore Brill

Morgan & trent

Morgan and Trent went into their wedding day so excited to get married, and that is the kind of energy I love to document. They had mentioned to me that they felt they were both awkward in front of the camera (spoiler alert, they aren’t at all), and they wanted things to be more candid and natural. They had also mentioned in their questionnaire that they wanted to cry and laugh during their film, see their kiddos, and feel all the feels. These are all of my favorite things.

Favorite parts of their wedding film

  • the opening. I love hearing Trent talk about his favorite things about Morgan.

  • Seeing actual moments from the wedding day with sound at the beginning of the film!

  • Their vows - when Trent says “who would have thought that one simple swipe would lead to this” and the clips after that…sobbing. Or when Trent says “Thank you for marrying me” and Morgan quietly replies “You’re welcome”

  • The music! I love Sammy Rae, who is the musician during their vows, and I’m so happy I finally got to use one of her songs, because it’s perfect - it’s soft and mellow, and makes you feel cozy.

  • Trent surprised Morgan with a solo dance with her sons….You will need tissues.

Nicole & Sean

Let’s talk about Nicole and Sean, because they are so cute and their vows will make you cry.

I remember in Nicole’s inquiry form she had said “I know the day will fly by so I want everything possible to be able to remember everything.” We decided that a 5-7 minute film would show everything from the day.

Favorite parts of their film:

  • Nicole’s face right before their first look - she is SO HAPPY. It makes me smile every time.

  • Their vows - those were the foundation to their film. They are so personal and loving, like a warm hug :)

  • The wedding party singing “I Like Big Butts” as Sean and Nicole dance.

  • The music in their film - I really wanted something that felt like coming inside a warm house on a rainy day. I’ve had this song in my favorites for a long time, and decided that this was the perfect couple to have it. Their dancing song had to be something that reflected how absolutely fun and energetic their reception was, and every time I hear it I want to dance!

Now it’s time to watch this perfect little film!!

alexis & jake

I think one of my favorite things ever, is filming or photographing the weddings of friends. Because I had SO much fun at this wedding, it’s honestly inspired how I plan my own! (Also working with Kate Elaine Photography because she’s my favorite)

This film is filled with sweet and sarcastic vows, a choreographed dance (so good), Alexis looking like a GODDESS, a lot of ABBA dancing, and a whole lotta love between the couple and their guests.

Brooke & Josh

what a perfect spring wedding.

some of my favorite parts of the day:

- while getting ready, Brooke told her mom and I about how she and josh had met earlier that day to read longer vows than they would say at the ceremony to get all the tears, “which clearly didn’t work because I’m still crying!” she had said.

- THE DETAILS. The blue and white toile and neutral bridesmaid dresses, small yellow flowers snapdragons in the bouquets, the name cards that Brooke had handwritten and crafted. Everything had a purpose and a detail.

- there was a brief silence once Brooke and her dad had gotten to the alter, and you only heard the wind through the trees, birds singing, and the sniffs from teary eyed family and friends. It gave guests a second to breathe, and josh and brooke a moment to take in everything that was about to happen.

- the venue, The Kester Homestead has a secret garden/enchanted barn vibe that makes me want to listed to folklore by taylor swift and take photos in pretty dresses in the middle of a field (not uncommon, my friends and I did that a lot in high school). The space among the trees and in the barn feels inviting and warm, and the house has so many nooks and crannies, your creativity can run wild.

these are just a couple of little moments from the day I remember best, and some of them you’ll be able to visit in the film. I feel so honored to be a small part in documenting brooke and josh’s day. 💛

MIKE & MORIAH

(aka the M&Ms)

mike and moriah are one of the most kind, hilarious, amazing couples I’ve gotten to work with.

I remember when the M&Ms reached out to me, they gave me such a detailed inquiry form, which I always LOVE reading. Moriah had mentioned that they were both very awkward in front of the camera (they aren’t, their adorable), and that they initially didn’t want to have a wedding because they didn’t want to be the center of attention.

I think what makes this couple so extremely special, is that they had me for photo and video, and I was able to their engagement photos at my favorite place in the world - Wildflower Creek Farm. We had a few different calls to go over the schedule, and the most important element of the day, was that they wanted to focus on being present and enjoy every part of their day.

Their wedding day was SO MUCH FUN. if you watch their film below, there are so many little moments of Mike and Moriah sneaking glances, being cute, and just enjoying their wedding day.

When it came to editing their film, they didn’t want anything too sentimental or crazy — Moriah wrote this to me -

“I think you know Mike and I more than we know ourselves, because our video is absolutely perfect. The video is so funny, goofy, but also romantic, and just perfectly us. Every time I watch it, the time flies by so quickly… We kept going back and forth on whether we wanted our vows in it - but I cannot imagine it any other way, especially since the ceremony was our favorite part of the day. And the music - perfection, how everything matches up with it and the songs you ultimately chose. They sound perfect and are exactly the type of music we love together, and those lyrics "Making Our Own Way" pretty much encapsulates us. We also love the documentary part with the lock, it's too funny, and having you in the video like that asking questions/commentary is awesome.

I think one part that reallllly got me was the part with Mike looking at me and then the camera moves to me looking at Mike, that moment is so special, I melt every time. The whole film, all the films, the vibe and everything - PERFECTION.”

I definitely had to think outside the box for the M&Ms film, but it was SO MUCH FUN. One of the reasons I love wedding videography is because every couple has a different aesthetic, and editing the film is like a big puzzle.

Mike and Moriah started my 2023 videography season off in a perfect way. Being apart of their day was so meaningful, and I think they’re just the best. :) Now watch their films!!

MARIsSA & TREVOR

When I first met with Marissa and Trevor, I could tell how excited they were to just be married.

On their wedding day, they were up for walking around the beautiful property and scenery of Wagner Winery and had so much FUN with all the prompts Kristy (photographer), Teddy (assistant videographer), Bronson (assistant photographer) and I (videographer) threw out at them.

Their film was at the beginning of my 2022 season, and is one of my favorite films EVER. Now stop reading and watch it already!!

CHLOE & SCOTT

Usually when I’m editing wedding vows or the ceremony, I shed a few tears for the first couple passes and then I’m good. But when their officient says “may your souls dance together as one” and the violin swells after Chloe expresses how much she loves Scott - AHHH. That is CINEMA, my friends.

Chloe and Scott found me through a vendor list back in at the end of 2020, and even in their email they were so excited to get married. On their wedding day, they were so present, and really made it a point to enjoy everything with the people they invited, the friends in their wedding party and notice all the little details (like the ribbon on Chloe’s flowers and Scott’s boutonnière was the same material that pointe shoe’s are made of, and Chloe is a professional dancer. She noticed it as she was getting ready and was so happy!)

In conclusion, this wedding is one of my favorites ever.

Below, you can watch their full film, their teaser, their trailer and their REACTION VIDEO (they only watched the first 20 seconds of the film in the video bc it was buffering however it’s one of the cutest things ever)

kate & ryan

When you have a visually stunning wedding, mixed with an adorable couple, a bride with a vision, and incredible vendors, you get a film that is simply stunning and will make you cry uncontrollably.

It took me awhile to find the right music for Kate and Ryan’s wedding film - I spent around 2-3 hours trying a bunch of different songs, instruments, and genres, experimenting with song after song, but the romantic nature of the footage wasn’t translating into film that they wanted, or it didn’t flow with their vows…Until I found the one in their film. Let me tell you, it took me about 2 hours to edit it together from there - everything came together so perfectly.

Over my career as a wedding videographer, I have made many romantic wedding films…but there’s something about this one that just gets ya right in the feels. So grab that box of tissues and meet the adorable couple of Kate and Ryan!!

Jessica & vincent

Ok, talk about a cool couple.

Jess and Vincent had their ceremony and a small reception in New York City prior to the celebration at Syracuse. A month later, with friends and family around, Jess and Vincent entered the party dancing to Music For a Sushi Restaurant by Harry Styles (THE BEST SONG AHHH) and the had the most lit reception at Dinosaur BBQ, dancing, eating, and celebrating with some of the coolest people.

I was so honored that Jess and Vincent trusted me and liked my work enough to have me there for both photo and film. Their trailer, teaser and final film are below, and you can check out some of their photos on my wedding photo page!

Also - shoutout to my second shooter, Mark for switching cameras back and forth throughout the day! He’s pretty coolbeans.

Shelby & zack

If you look at one of my other videos, you’ll spot Shelby in the bridal party of Chelsea and Peter’s video - which is exactly how I met these two cuties. I had been looking forward to Shelby and Zack’s wedding since they had contacted me; not only was their aesthetic for the wedding day classy and elegant, but they are also the nicest humans ever.

Shelby sent this message over to me once I sent their film:

“OMG!! We are crying tears of joy and will be watching this video over and over again until the end of time. We appreciate all of your hard work and creativity.. you are literally amazing, and so talented! We love how you captured all of the feelings from the day.. happy.. tears of joy... dancing... humor- it is all SOO good!! We cannot wait to have this forever to look back on all of the details of the day.”

Sherri & Jim

The only way I can describe Sherri and Jim’s wedding is an absolute blast attack with the most incredibly high energy wedding party, hilarious couple and a vendor team that was just as excited that they were getting married as they were.

Before their wedding day, I got to meet Sherri and Jim at a styled shoot and photograph a mock wedding with them. I loved how much fun the two had together and how much fun I had with them.

Fast forward a few months later, they had mentioned that they wanted a 1950s vibe to their film and I just about flipped a table I was so excited.

Fast forward again to a month later, I’m at their wedding: The level of energy the wedding party maintained through the entire day was something of magic, Sherri and Jim had so much fun the entire day, Sherri might have almost passed out during the ceremony because of the heat, and Jaynie, Allie and Sara were the greatest people ever to work with.

This was one of my favorite weddings of the year and now you have to watch their film because it’s so GOOD and I love this couple.

When I sent the teaser to Sherri and Jim, they replied with: “OMFG!!!! Stfu 😭😭😭 I am at such a loss for words and totally sobbing away! Such beauty and class and fun!…Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for capturing the happiest day of our lives! We’re so glad you were a part of it”

(excuse me as I ugly cry in the corner 😭)

nicole & michael

The most aesthetic video I’ve ever made omgomgomg.

When I met Nicole for a consultation a year before her wedding, I was SO hoping she would choose me to be her videographer. Her excitement for the wedding, as well as the aesthetic she wanted for her film "(“Audrey Hepburn, a little drunk” and “1920s glitz and glamour” I mean come onnnnn) made me cross my fingers that I would be able to document part of her and Mike’s love story.

Not only did she have some of the most incredible vendors that I had been hoping to work with for ages, but the whole day was filled with class, fun, and elegance. This was my last video wedding of the 2022 season and dang it, what an absolute perfect way to finish it off.

anna & fernando

The dreamiest of days that inspired Bridgerton and Pride & Prejudice (2005 version)…Ok, we were inspired by Bridgerton and Pride & Prejudice.

But you get the idea.

I’ve known Anna and Fernando since I was in high school, and I was so so SO excited when they asked if I wanted to film their wedding day. This was my first wedding of the 2021 season (post-Covid) and it started my season with a bang. I cried multiple times, and saw my dear friends tie the knot.

What a majestic day and film.

the cute and classy teaser & trailer below

The Trailer!

hadassah & david

This was the most perfect backyard wedding, on the most perfect day, with the most perfect couple. Simply iridescent.

David, the groom, reached out to me after the wedding day and said this about the film-

“I can't believe these moments are ours to have and hold. It takes me back at lightspeed to that day which has already gained so much nostalgic traction in my memory. We both agreed we'll never be the same after this film. It is just too perfect and love-laden and theatrical for us to ever not be watching it. If you ever want to make a full-length indie movie with us, give me a call! Lol . . .

The shot of me hugging my dad before approaching the altar gets me everytime, man. I can barely make it through the rest of the film after that point. Then I get smashed in the face with those aisle of trees shots and the moment where I walk to Hadassah and pull her in for a dance.

These shots kill my lil' heart with their bullets of love…This feels a little like a mountaintop moment . . .

I think I'll sit here, on the peak, for a little while.”

While I sob in the corner check out their Wes Anderson inspired teaser and trailer below.

emma & Dom

Emma and Dom have hands down one of my favorite films I’ve ever made. It’s SO FUNKY. So fun.

If you don’t know, Emma is one of the most talented photographers in CNY. I had second shot for her a few times that year and when I mentioned that I also specialized in video, she asked if I could make her a custom package for a few hours that would capture the details, first look, bridal party and ceremony, which is now my 4 hour package.

I knew as soon as I opened the door with my assistant that this was going to be the coolest wedding - the colors! the decor and details! The FLOWERS. Then Emma shows up lookin’ so fine in her dress and cape (YES SHE HAD A CAPE INSTEAD OF A VEIL), and Dom walks in with his dapper red jacket and suede shows, SO ready to get married. Emma’s bridesmaids were wearing literally all my favorite colors along with demin jackets that had their names on them.

Even though I was only there for 4 hours, I was able to create a video that showed off one of the sickest weddings of 2019.

mary & caleb

Mary and Caleb had planned to get married in 2020, but due to the state of the world, they decided to push it to 2021. Waiting that extra year only made everyone even more jazzed to celebrate. and celebrate we did.

Can we talk about the location?? Mary’s gorgeous makeup and little flower petals in her hair?? That rooftop view?? THE ELEVATOR SHOT?!

*Chris Traeger voice from Parks and Rec* I literally, COULD NOT deal.

After I deliver wedding films to my couples, I always ask if they can fill out a lil questionnaire to provide feedback. Mary had written this based on my question about anything I can improve on with working with me:

“I seriously can’t, you are so amazing I can’t think of anything to improve upon. Not only are you so amazing at what you do and so willing to go above and beyond, but you are the most pleasant person ever to work with. You and your assistant were a true joy to have on our day, it’s clear that you genuinely share the joy of your clients and truly feel you are seeing the most beautiful wedding and bride ever for the first time with each and every wedding you go to.”

jillian & kevin

Jillian and Kevin found me a few months before their wedding day through a wedding Facebook group, and boy I’m glad they did. They were my last wedding of the 2021 season and their wedding day took place on a perfect December day - not too cold, and not too snowy. Jill had made the floral bouquets herself, Kevin and the groomsmen had custom made stopwatches, and there was a HOT CHOCOLATE BAR.

It was the best possible way to end the wedding season, and I was so excited to send them their final film, which i can now share with you:)

anita & celeste

Anita and Celeste reached out to me and asked if I was interested filming and photographing their intimate elopement, to which I replied with a hearty "ABSOLUTELY.”

Celeste mentioned in our first meeting Anita loved waterfalls, and that they wanted to visit one during the session, possibly after the wedding at Emerson Park. We then got the idea of a two day elopement to fit in all the elements they wanted in their photos and film - the first day would be heading to an ice cream shop with their fam, and then heading over to Ithaca Falls. What a mighty fine idea that was.

The next day we were in full cerebration mode. During the ceremony, their family members each read notes/advice written on autumn leaves to be read aloud. Afterwards, celebratory champaign was sprayed (almost at my camera but I was so happy I didn’t care) and rose petals flitted in the air.

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here, because it means you may have taken a gander at all these nifty films. As you can see, I know some pretty awesome couples.

If you have any questions about the films, or would like to know more about the film packages I offer, smash that “have a question” button to the side.

chelsea & peter

If you didn’t know, Chelsea and Peter are pretty awesome.

They had to reschedule their wedding due to Covid, but you wouldn’t even know that while attending. The day was filled with excitement from family and friends, and every detail (the decor! the scheduling! the desserts!) was p e r f e c t.

They’re also so stinkin’ cute, and they have one of the longest films I’ve ever created, coming in at almost 14 minutes! They were one of the first couples to do an engagement film with me, which allowed me to juxtapose those cute shots of them getting married, to a year earlier while they were still planning.

Also can we talk about how they performed CHOREOGRAPHED DANCES FOR EACH OTHER AT THE RECEPTION.

I told you they were awesome.

anne & sam

I’ve known anne since I was in high school - she was a grade above me and I always thought she was the coolest person ever. She still is.

When we were talking about music selections and the vibe they wanted for their film, anne and sam mentioned they loved the song Sedona by Houndmouth and Rivers and Roads by The Head and the Heart, and if I can find a song similar to those. I sent them a few options and they opted for the one in their wedding film, which sounds like a song that couple be featured in an indie movie, mixed with the feeling that love is infinite. Their day was made of something special, and I think their film reflected that.

Also, tiny pies?? THAT DIP??? Ugh, just watch their film already!
